Outlook Mail
With Outlook Mail, you can search, read, and summarize emails. If the administrator has enabled the relevant write actions, you can also create and modify drafts and send a draft.
Requirements and enabling
Your organization must have made the integration available and your Microsoft work account must have access to the relevant data. Choose an available AI model that can use tools; OpenAI is not mandatory.
Open profile → Preferences → Tools → Connections, enable Outlook Mail, and complete the Microsoft sign-in if necessary. Follow the full steps in Enabling Microsoft integrations. Your choice also applies to new chats and other devices.
Available features
| Capability | Condition and operation |
|---|---|
| Reading | Search, read, and summarize emails. |
| Drafts | Save a new draft or modify an existing draft; only with admin right Drafts. |
| Sending | Send an existing draft; only with the separate admin right Sending. |
The administrator determines the write rights. You use the same personal integration toggle for reading and allowed write actions. Writing only works when the environment is technically enabled for it.
Examples
- “Search emails about this week's project meeting.”
- “Create a draft to colleague@example.org with a summary of our meeting. Do not send it yet.”
- “Change the subject of this draft to Project meeting.”
- “Send this draft to colleague@example.org.”
Check access and results
Check recipient, subject, and content before sending. A draft remains in Outlook until you command sending. The right for drafts does not automatically include sending rights. Microsoft may accept a send command before the recipient has received the mail. These tools do not offer delete action or choice of another sender.
The integration works within your own Microsoft access. Check important changes in Microsoft itself. If you no longer want to use the connection, turn it off in Preferences → Tools → Connections. Previously saved items remain.
