Transparent pricing for AI-School
AI-School charges a fixed subscription per school environment. Staff and pupils can use the platform within that environment, with no per-user fee.
There are also API costs for model usage and one-time environment setup costs. All prices exclude VAT.

Subscription for the 2026/2027 school year
Large primary schools with more than 400 pupils pay double.
For primary schools with more than 400 pupils.
For secondary schools with up to 1,000 pupils.
For secondary schools with more than 1,000 pupils.
The rate may be doubled for large departments with more than 1,000 students.
A school board office counts as a separate school environment. Rates are based on the size of the educational institution, determined using DUO data and/or other official institution data. Rates do not depend on the actual number of users.

Calculate your AI-School costs
Choose the type of school environment and the number of schools. An administrative office also counts as a school. Large primary schools and large secondary schools count as a double rate.

Keep usage under control
API costs stay transparent
Each chat, generated image or other model action may incur costs. API costs are estimated in advance as prepaid credit. You can adjust this credit during the year if needed. Each year, the credit is reconciled against actual usage, so you only pay the costs actually incurred.

- Model options can be configured for each environment.
- Features such as voice chat, MCP integrations and images can be restricted.
- Student access hours can be set.
- Soft and hard limits help keep costs manageable.
Setting up your own environment
We charge a one-time fee to set up your own school environment €1,250.00.
- A dedicated database for the school board
- An identity tenant for user management
- Sign-in integration with Google or Microsoft
- API keys for the selected AI models
- Environment testing and basic configuration
- Admin accounts for the school board
Existing customers
For existing customers, current subscription prices will increase by 3%. In accordance with the subscription terms, prices are indexed annually on 1 August based on the CBS Services Price Index for business services, category 620: Computer programming and consultancy.
Somtoday integration
AI-School is an integration partner of Somtoday. Once connected, students, staff, base groups and subjects can be synchronised automatically.
