Introduction

Discover AI-School in less than 10 minutes.

What is AI-School?

AI-School is a web application specially developed for schools to learn how to work with AI models. It offers a safe and engaging way to explore the world of Artificial Intelligence in the educational environment.

Some key features of AI-School:

  • Access to the most advanced AI models within one application
  • Secure login via the school environment
  • Privacy-conscious platform with technical and organizational protective measures
  • Monitoring and guidance of students
  • Support for teachers with SLO integration
  • Cost-effective solution for AI in education

Logging in to AI-School

You can log in to AI-School on the web application. First, choose the correct environment. Then log in with your Google or Microsoft school account.

Your first prompt

Immediately after logging in, you arrive at the screen where you see a question bar at the bottom. You can now ask your first question (prompt). Your prompt will then appear on the screen and a loading indicator will show. Once the answer is ready, it will appear on the screen. This answer is generated by a language model.

Continuing the chat

You can then continue chatting with the language model. The message history is saved. This way, you can 'continue' chatting without having to repeat what you said in previous questions.

Switching language models

Unique feature of AI-School

Switching language models

AI-School has a unique feature: the ability to switch between language models. We offer different language models, each with strengths and weaknesses. This way, you can discover which model you prefer. You can also have a favorite model for different applications. You switch to another language model by clicking the language model selection button to the left of the answer.

Copying or regenerating an answer

Next to the answer on the right side are two buttons. With the left button, you can copy the answer. With the right button, you can have the answer regenerated by the same language model. This can be useful if you want to give the model a second chance to deliver a better result.

Generating images

You can generate images with the "Create Image" tool. You can set this tool in three modes:

  • Auto: The tool is automatically activated when you ask a question like "Create an image of..."
  • On: The tool is always active and generates images with every prompt
  • Off: The tool is disabled

You can configure the tool via the settings menu on the right side of the question bar. Under "Tools" you can change the different tool settings. Two images are always created by a text-to-image model. Here too, you can choose between the image models available within the AI-School environment, for example via OpenAI, Google, or European AI.

Chatting with documents

You can chat with documents by clicking the paperclip 📎 button to the right of the question bar at the bottom. You must first select a suitable language model before you can click this, for example a model from the current central model catalog with sufficient context space. You can upload and select various PDF documents. Once the chat function is enabled, the content of the documents will be taken into account when answering your questions.

You can read more about chatting with documents in the relevant article.

Chatting with internet sources

You can chat with internet sources by clicking the internet button on the left in the question bar at the bottom. Once the internet search function is enabled, a search query will first be performed based on the prompt, and then the results of that search will be included when answering your questions.

Multimodal question

Many models in the central catalog support multimodal input. If this is the case, you can also add images to the prompt.
