Functions

Via Functions you centrally determine which AI functions are available. This is the only admin page for these function permissions; the Restrictions step in the environment only contains usage limits.

Staff and students

At the environment level, you set functions separately for staff and students. For students, you can then add exceptions at school, group, and student level. You only see exceptions that you add yourself.

1. Open Schools and groups.
2. Add a school exception.
3. Load the groups of that school only when needed.
4. Load the students of a group only when needed.
5. Choose Inherit, Allow, or Block per function.

A block at a higher level cannot be undone at a lower level. As a result, a group or student cannot loosen the central security policy.

For each function, the page shows what currently applies and via which level, for example “Now allowed via environment” (or school, group, or student). If a higher level blocks it, Allow is not available at lower levels.

For staff, the centrally managed functions for voice chat, documents, and MCP/connectors are shown. Provider-specific tool choices remain under Tools.
