New models available

More powerful language models and a new image model in AI-School

New AI models are now available in AI-School. This allows you to choose a model that better suits your task for different educational activities—from developing teaching materials and analysing documents to creating images.

The top models have been upgraded to GPT-6 Astra from OpenAI and Claude Fable 5.1 from Anthropic. Astra excels at tasks such as calculations, complex assignments, and multi-step workflows. Fable 5.1 is well suited to writing and analysing very long documents. This can be useful, for example, when working with extensive policy documents, project plans, or large sets of student work.

For images, FlareGPT-Image-2.5 Flare from OpenAI is now available. This fast image model creates high-quality still images and also supports images with transparent backgrounds. This allows you to create illustrations for teaching materials, presentations, or assignments more quickly, for example.

The Gemini Flash models have also been updated. Gemini 3.8 Flash replaces Gemini 3.6 Flash and offers greater reasoning power for tasks such as programming and more complex assignments. Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite replaces Gemini 2.5 Flash and is a fast, cost-effective choice for large volumes of text, translations, and content review.

Which models you see depends on the settings and available providers in your AI-School environment. Administrators can manage this through the AI settings; users can choose their preferred provider in their preferences.
